# AI Will Agree With You

By the end of this year, I’ll hit 20 million words produced with AI. Let me share something many people don't understand about AI:

AI is designed to be collaborative. That means it usually affirms whatever position you give it. If you’re trying to debate online or test your thinking, that’s a trap.

It won’t push back unless you ask it to, and even then, it usually won’t go far enough unless you can source it. It’s not built to challenge you. It’s built to support you or your position.

It's not just going to criticize your views or position. People online will do that. And that's how it becomes a trap.

So if you’re using AI to sharpen your arguments, remember: you’re arguing with your reflection unless you force it to play devil’s advocate. And even then, you need the discipline and source work to exhaust your position if you want it to hold up.
